About Karyn

She brings senior-level judgment shaped by deep experience in finance, strategy, and operations across startups, established businesses, and complex nonprofit organizations.
Karyn has served as a trusted advisor to executive teams on issues including budgeting and forecasting, cash flow analysis, growth strategy, pricing decisions, organizational change, and risk assessment. Her work focuses on improving decision quality—helping leaders think clearly before committing capital, headcount, or strategic direction. She is known for translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insight and for thoughtfully challenging assumptions that others may overlook.
Karyn does not provide investment management, tax, or accounting services; her work is focused on strategic and financial decision-making support rather than day-to-day financial execution.
Her professional background includes senior finance leadership roles and advisory work across multiple sectors, including higher education, healthcare, legal services, digital marketing, and social services. She has led large budgets, managed mergers and system implementations, advised on high-stakes financial decisions, and supported leaders through periods of growth and uncertainty.
Outside of her consulting practice, Karyn runs Education Aid, a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing financial barriers to education through targeted scholarship programs that support students from early learning through post-graduation stability. This work reflects a long-standing commitment to education, access, and responsible stewardship.
Karyn holds a Master of Public Affairs with concentrations in Public Finance and Policy Analysis and brings a calm, independent perspective to leaders who value clarity, rigor, and thoughtful challenge.

Our Services & Pricing
Clarity on the decision in front of you.
Who it’s for:
Founders, nonprofit leaders, and business owners facing a specific question or concern who want an experienced, independent perspective without committing to a longer engagement.
What this session does:
This focused session is designed to quickly clarify a defined issue—such as evaluating a financial assumption, reviewing a cash flow concern, pressure-testing a strategic choice, or preparing for an upcoming conversation with investors, boards, or partners. Clients typically bring one or two targeted questions and leave with a clearer understanding of tradeoffs, risks, and next steps.
What you leave with:
-
A sharper view of the decision at hand
-
Clearer assumptions and identified blind spots
-
Greater confidence moving forward
This option is ideal when you need thoughtful input quickly and want to ensure you are not missing something important before acting.

Time to think it through—properly.
Who it’s for:
Founders, nonprofit leaders, and executives facing complex or high-stakes decisions that require more than a surface-level review—such as pricing changes, growth strategy, capital allocation, restructuring, or navigating uncertainty.
What this session does:
This extended session allows us to slow down and examine a decision from multiple angles. We work through underlying assumptions, financial implications, risks, and second-order effects, using your real data and context. The goal is not consensus—it’s clarity.
What you leave with:
-
A clearer understanding of the decision in front of you
-
Identified risks, tradeoffs, and blind spots
-
A sharper framework for moving forward with confidence
This is ideal when the cost of getting it wrong is high and you want to be deliberate before committing time, money, or credibility.

Space to think, test, and decide.
Who it’s for:
Founders, nonprofit leaders, and business owners navigating a sequence of connected decisions or an evolving situation—where one conversation isn’t enough, but a long-term engagement isn’t necessary.
What this package does:
This package provides structured continuity across multiple sessions, allowing decisions to be explored, refined, and pressure-tested over time. We use the first session to frame the issue, the second to test assumptions and scenarios, and the third to evaluate progress and adjust direction as needed.
What you leave with:
-
A coherent decision framework across multiple conversations
-
The ability to test strategy and financial assumptions as conditions change
-
Greater confidence moving forward with alignment between strategy, numbers, and execution
This option is ideal when clarity develops through iteration—and when thoughtful follow-up is as important as the initial conversation.
